The roots of Seiko Epson Corporation go back to a company called Daiwa Kogyo, Ltd. which was founded in May 1942 by Hisao Yamazaki, a local clock shop owner and former employee of K. Hattori, in Suwa, Nagano, Japan. Daiwa Kogyo was supported by an investment from the Hattori family (founder of the Seiko Group) and began as a manufacturer of watch parts for Daini Seikosha (currently Seiko Instruments). The company started operation in a 2,500-square-foot (230 m2) renovated miso storehouse with 22 employees.

Purchased the Epson about 8 months ago, selected the 6040 over the top of the line Epson. replaced a very good Sony 1080P projector and not sorry for a minute. Considered the Epson as an interim 4K capable unit but now consider the possibility that unless there is a leap forward with a true 4K projector for a reasonable price, will stick to this one for a long time to come. Love this projector.
I bought this projector and set it up in my home theatre. I have a 20' throw with a 16'x9' screen and it is so bright. Usually I have to dim the lights to get a clear picture, but this projector is so bright I could see everything crystal clear with all the lights on! I even pointed my flashlight at the screen and I could still see the picture on the screen! I found the setup to be easy, the projector has plenty of features and the quality is great! My daughter really likes the motorized lens cover-"It keeps it clean daddy" she says. Overall very impressed. Crystal clear picture, super bright and easy to work. Great product!
I have a home theater setup with a 120” screen all I can say is Wow ! I moved from a Panasonic 8000 what upgrade .. I am very happy I chose this projector! If you are considering the 6040 think no more buy it !! You will need a high speed HDMI ethernet cable if running over a 10’ for 4K to pass thru without a problem .
Just put my new 6040UB (replaced my old 6010). I had really high expectations when I purchased this unit and it really didn't disappoint. GREAT Colours and DEEP Blacks. I play golf sim and the game is in 4K......Fabulous picture, almost no lag, great fps and fantastic picture.
I have had this a little over a month now and I am very pleased with the quality and the picture quality is fantastic... I have had over 10 projectors (over a 15 year span) and this is the best one yet !!! Get you one you will not be disappointed…
