The history of Elipson is inextricably linked to its managing director, Joseph Léon. Born in Bordeaux, he studied at the Arts et Métiersschool and was passionate about sound. In 1930, he took part in the assembly and development of sound systems used in cinemas as part of the Radio Cinéma branch of the CSF holding. At the same time, Joseph Léon and his brother Juan were working on a portable recording device, the Monobloc VV3. A member of the resistance decorated with the War Cross, JosephLéon joined the Multimeter company after his demobilization. At this point in time, Multimeter was a small company specializing in the conception of motors for electronic toys. Its main production was made up of locomotives and train track for children. The company also manufactured miniature electric parts used in the conception of transformers, dynamos, and alternators. In other words, educational toys to build on your own in order to learn the basics of industrial electricity.

Its large sub-chassis integrates a variety of functions which are showcased by a piece of chrome-plated or brushed metal. A preamplified turntable

Each of the Omega 100 turntable’s functions has been optimized. Its carbon tonearm, designed by the brand’s engineers, is equipped with a Ortofon OM10 cartridge. The suspended motor entirely eliminates friction, while the extraordinarily precise rotational speed generator enables playback for 33, 45 and 78 rpm records.
